Default power steering makes groaning/grinding sound

lately, when i turn the wheel, towards full lock left or right, the steering or someting emits some sort of groaning sound, and i can feel the vibrations through the steering wheel and the accelerator pedal. Any thoughts on this??

I had a similar issue in my R a few thousand k's after the 40,000km service (the major one I think you guys have 30,000 miles?). It turned out that the wrong transmission oil was used. My mechanic had used 10w30 as the service book said and as recommend by the guy he buys his Honda parts from. There had since been an update to the manual from Honda that said to use 75/85 and that the 10w30 can be used temporarily. But get this, when he called Honda they said that it should be 75/80 not 75/85 as the update said. He called a number of other dealers around town and they all gave different answers.

I would recommend flushing your transmission with 75/80 and see if the noise goes away - it did for me.

Your belt is slipping or loose. Replace or tighten it.
