A new R owner (well...had it since Oct. 2011).
Hey guys,
I officially own an Integra Type R (technically since October) but it feels awesome!! I never thought I would actually own one of these! After these so many years of cars....builds....and cars...and builds, it has finally come true! But before I spoil you all with some pictures, here's a little timeline of my cars for you to enjoy!
First car ever....my junior year in high school (that would be 2002)...My dad bought me my first car! I saw this car in the movie "The girl Next Door"...and I told my dad I wanted one! I was a European fan and my dad thought I was stupid! But all in all, it was what i wanted, so he bought me A MINT 1990 VW Cabriolet convertible baby! Chicks loved it!
Front lip, lowered...rims...exhaust...GTI parts swapped....da da da. Enjoyed it very much. Still miss it to this day. I'll get me another one day when I retire. Anyway, I eventually sold it for something with much more power.
A 2000 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8L N/A
Only mod I did was a front lip....bought some rims and tires but I didn't get the chance to throw them on. Having this car was great, but then it cost too much to maintain. It constantly had so many electrical problems and I couldn't even get into the engine bay cause the dam motor was so big. On top of that, the 2.8L N/A version sucked cause there was very limited performance parts for it....SOLD it and then got
my first motorcycle! vROoM! 1994 Suzuki RF500!
Not the best bike but I bought it for a steal. Saved up some $$ on the side. A local kid eventually made me an offer on the bike so I let it go! Finally considered getting into the HONDA game! Next car up.....
My 1996 Midori Hatch !!
Drove ten hours to Ohio for this baby....only to realize that pictures really don't do justice! Car was a joke when I bought it...besides the jdm parts. Had crap suspension being slammed....burnt oil....school bus shifter, ran like ****. We were surprised it made it home...Did a lot of fixing on it but it still wasn't satisfying when you already know all the flaws. So....it had to go.
Moving on!
1990 Toyota Tercel!
This car was mint! Picked it up from original owner with 75k miles.
After about a year and a half....i transformed it into a sleeper.
Front lip, suspension, fully custom 2.5" exhaust, Drag DR20 rims, 1.3 Starlet Turbo engine....this lil thing was quick! Beat my bros JDM B16 hatch in the background LOL!
Unfortunately....someone decided to hit and run my precious...it began to have electrical problems then. I junked it and planned to throw the swap in a newer Tercel. So I picked up a 96 Terceland fixed it up to this.
Planned to throw the swap in until my brother offered to sell me the hatch. YESSS! The day has come! I knew one day he would sell it to me! ALL mine! I ended up selling the setup to a local guy.....and got myself .....
A real deal! 00 Tafetta White Civic hatch from my very own brother. He got himself a Toyota 4Runner afterwards for him and his wife.
After about two years....an offer finally came for the hatch that I couldn't refuse while a particular car was for sale (the only car I would EVER trade for) that was calling my name! SOLD my precious hatch.........
for
the
LEGEND!
After ten years of touching cars......the day has finally come!I am the chosen one!
I"m sure you have all seen this ITR before in the forums, but I am proud to announce that I am the new owner of 00-1195.
This car is absolutely amazing....even more so with the Pro charger kit. It definitely needs some TLC and some minor fixes....but all in all, it was in an acceptable condition. These pictures are taken after I shampooed all the seats and vacuumed all the dog hair out if it just last week.
DOG hair = BIG NO NO...and gross!
So far what I've done:
- Fixed exhaust clamps (were all loose or ripped off)
- Threw back in UDSM center armrest (this is comfortable lol)
- ACT Stg4 puck clutch (car came with org. clutch with 140k miles on it! HOLY SHIZ! DANGER!)
- 8lb Fidanza flyhweel (brings back motorcycle days)
- New tensioner installed for S/C belt
- RE-install OEM ITR shifter (OEM the best!)
Plans for this year!
-Redo all gaskets (a good amount of oil leaks in bay...car burns oil really really fast! I think when I checked, it burn 2 qts in 800 miles)
- Redo 3" Kteller custom exhaust (cheap clamping job it seems)
- Redo engine head/block (compression reads only 190-195 which I think is too low?)
- New ITR LSD tranny (3rd grinds...5th likes to pop out once in awhile) - Re-tune with new clutch/flywheel and rebuild
- New OEM ITR carpet
- New paint job
- Either 16" Regamasters....or 16" Slipstreams
I am open to any suggestions if you R owners have any. I plan to keep this car as it is...and just keep it maintained, clean and simple. More pictures for you!
Hope you all enjoyed my long post.

Congrats! Isaac sent me a pic of your py yesterday lol. Small world.
It depends on what compression tester you use. Small will read lower. More important is that are with 5-10 of each other. Was the car at operating temp?

Thanks! The ITR came like that. It's starting to peel a little bit tho...and I'm not sure what kind of material he used.

Wow! you sure moved up to one sweet car. I liked your time line of cars you sure went through a lot of different cars. The Tercel and the White hatch was my favorite. Have fun with the type R and be sure you keep it safe from all of those thieves out there. Nice Ride!

Thanks! Yep the 1990 Tercel was the first car I really got deep into. It was my first swap and everything actually was successful. I was proud of my work on that car....it was a rare piece!
But life goes on....I junked it and now I've got something even better! ITR FTW!
