Default JDM Center Console Question

Is the JDM Center console thinner in general. Reason for asking.... I want to mount a controler on the drivers side of the center console, but the recaro is too close to the USDM console. Not talking about the armrest portion, but in front of that.

Just found a pic. There is no difference. Need to find a spot to mount my nitrous mastermind. It's not small like a VAFC, if you have seen them. Only thoughts so far are the glove comp. (but i want to be able to play with the settings close by). Any thoughts where to mount?

EDIT: Also, as you could see in your pic, I wanted to mount the unit sideways (controls/***** obviously pointing up) right between the seat boulster and the center console, but there is clearly not enough space. I would have to mount it out in front of the seat = UGLY, becase then the unit is clear in view. Looking for something clean. I just want to see the face of the unit... custom work is fine, but tryin to find an area.

Jon

I wonder if I'd get roadhead more frequently if I had the JDM console...

Shouldn't really matter. She can just rest part of her body on the armrest

Sheesh, where did this post go

As far as the empty DIN space, I dont know about that. it looks too narrow to fit the controller. Have you seen the Jacobs Nitrous Mastermind? I tried to look for dimentions, but no luck.

Is it too thick to custom mount in the sun visor?? A friend mounted his VAFC there.

Guessing this is your friends:

Here is a pic of the mastermind, you could see how it would not work out in the visor, not to mention I want it easily acessible to turn the ***** when racing (progressive control disarming, etc..). Thanks for the thought though...

Any other thoughts as to where i could mount this thing?

Bolt the mastermind to the driver's side of the center console, next to your right leg.

That way it is relatively hidden and you can reach it easily.

Was thinkin about it (either on the right side in the foot/pedal compartment, or on the right side right in front of the seat). but in both places, the whole "box" of the unit is visible. I think the place closer to the seat would be nicer, with the controls lying flat, rather then having the unit sit up-down on the left of the radio/ac area. Still... looking for more ideas though, so the entire box would be hidden.

OK, so you want the ***** visible, but the unit hidden but easily accessible?
I would try the driver's side door armrest. Drill out holes for the ***** and mount it vertically from underneath so the ***** stick out the top. Yeah, you can't rest your arm here anymore, but it might be worth it. Or mount it horizontally and keep the armrest. Other "bad" point, you'll have to drill out some molex plugs.

That thing is humongus. I had that on my stang. I had to mount it underneath the glovebox. I cant even see how you're going to mount it in the din or next to ya. Id say probably in the glove is your best bet.
