I'd confirm it if I had any idea what he was talking about.
The only thing I can think of is that he might have heard how older ITR on the track will sometimes need to be overfilled to make sure there's no oil starvation in the corners of a variety that'll cause the car to fall out of VTEC.
That's always a big shock, when you suddenly lose about 30 horsepower in the middle of a turn. LOL...
This is why some of us idiots have Spoon and Mugen oil pans w/baffles.
Other than that, I can't imagine what he's talking about. </TD></TR></TABLE>
I think it was a joke, or a very ignorant comment, or just sarcasm (a joke!).
Anyhoo, it does suck to be at 7 grand in 3rd gear with no vtec.
I just ignore comments like that, since they aren't the right answer and I don't feel like philosophizing about it.

When the motor is cold your oil should be at the lower level...when warm(operating temperature) it should be at the upper level. The difference between levels as said earlier is 1qt. So when warm, if you are at the lower level you are 1qt. shy of the factory oil specification. Check it a few times after you turn the car off, before thinking your way over...as oil works its way up the dip stick slightly from operation and obviously settles when off. Mine is always so clean its hard to tell where the hell it is...LOL

It is One Quart. Not only have I witnessed this first hand but I also read this in my service manual.
Since we're talking about oil level. Anyone know how it might be posible for an engine to make oil? I put in 4 quarts and I drained out nearly 5.5 quarts. The only explaination I have is that maybe someone was really concerned for me and broke into my car and added some oil for me.
As for the Lower hole being for when the car is cold and the upper hole for when it is warm... LOL Common sense would tell you that when the engine is cold more oil is in the pan tha when the pump has circulated the oil throughout the engine. If you were serious and actually thought this I am sorry to laugh, but I know better and the way it was written sounded so official.

Re: How much oil between holes on the dipstick? (R-Type)
FYI, where you list the WTB in your sig, WTB: 94-01 Driver side headlight, 94-01 USDM hood...these parts are different. The headlights are different for 94-97 tegs and 98-01's. Make sure that you buy them accordingly to the model of your car.
Oh yeah, its one quart between the dots.
