Changing Tranny Fluid?
If I change my tranny fluid to some other fluid, and then changed it back to the Honda brand fluid at some later point, would Acura ever be able to tell I used another brand of fluid?
I want to use some GM Synchromesh, but Acura won't put it in for me and said it would void my tranny warrenty. so I don't want them to know I am using it, but if KI had to bring it back in to the dealer I would change it back to honda tranyn fluid, but not sure if they would be able to still tell.
Thanks!

But it was suggested by some members htta using GM Synchromesh would help to eliminate grinding problems I was having.
I talked to the dealer and thye won't open up the tranny, they just take it for a drive, say everything is fine and send me on my way

onyx - no, the dealer cannot tell if you used a different MTF if you later on flush it out with Honda MTF. We (pyromaster, black R and I) did our R's tranny fluid swap this past week. It only take 30 minutes tops and you can easily change your GM synchromesh to Honda MTF before taking it back.

2. If it does it for them too, get a second opinion by taking it to another dealer.
I doubt that the problem is due to the fluid. This is how you can find out for sure.

If they take a swab from inside the transmission and send it out to the lab for a chemical analysis they might be able to tell...
