Car won't start up strong. Sounds like it's going to die..
Sometimes when I start my car, it won't start up strong. It sounds like as if it's going to die and then starts up. Anybody know what could be causing this?

Do you allow enough time for the fuel pump to prime? I thought my R had a problem and needed to be taken back the dealer to be fixed. I found out that you need to turn the key to the second click and you need to leave it there for alittle bit until the Check engine light goes out. I think the fuel pump needs time to pressurize the system. Maybe that is why your car can't start up becuase it lacks the nessary fuel pressure in the beginning.

my itr motor will not start up on the first crank, i have to crank it once for a split second, let it sit for 2 seconds, then it turns over on the second try. go figure.

yep.. you should at least do that.. maybe for a second or 2.. but never start as soon as you place the key inside ignition. other than that, make sure plugs/distr. rotor are in good shape and don't need to be replaced..

Now that I think about it, that may of been the reason why it did that. Just wondering why it does that in the ITR, but not in other cars? I don't think my mother's Acura TL does that.

bringing back from the dead*
is this necessary to wait a few sec to let the fuel pump prime up? theres got to be something else behind it. my 4 runner does not require a wait time nor does my other cars....
