In-car vid highlights from Hyperfest at Summit Point
Guys,
I've been kind of slack on posting in-car vids, but I'll try to get better. Here's an 8 minute compilation of the recent Honda Challenge races at Summit Point. Hope you enjoy it
http://video.google.com/videop...hl=en
Here's a very large vid of the entire Sunday race at Beaverun back in June. (It takes a good 60 seconds or so to buffer, so please be patient.):

Not turn 10, but I definitely threw a few out in turn 1

Re: In-car vid highlights from Hyperfest at Summit Point (Back in Black)
Looks like fun... can't wait to get my freshly painted caR out there and tear hell. My observation is that driver capability appears to be a much larger percentage of success than what the car is capable of. Meaning even a more powerful car can get stuck for about 6 minutes behind a car of less power and handling quality because the driver is decent. -Well... till he makes a mistake.

sick
that 3 wide pass you made on the 2 miatas in the first vid was awesome. things look like they are happening so fast out there.
your show car does look beautiful though
what motor is in that black civic coupe?

Thanks for all the comments, guys. The Civic and the yellow ITR both have built H22s in them. It was the first weekend that they were racing with the new setup and as you can see, they are FAST!

yeah both those cars look pretty damn quick. what are the general limitations as far as motors go in H1? have to be oem and a certain displacement or something?

Awesome video Jason.
I will get around to posting some of my nooB video sometime soon from this past weekend's PDX. (maybee someone can point out some things to improve upon)
I would like to know more about the setup you have in 1102 - all I know about is the motor swap.

Re: In-car vid highlights from Hyperfest at Summit Point (ITR 1102)
Nice videos-Seemed as though you lost out alot on the gear selections when approaching corners. As though you need to practice being in alower gear earlier, so you can then be on the power quicker.
It was just my observeation that the Civic would only pull away as you were slecting a gear. -heel/toe-
Otherwise looked fun

Very good observation, although it was more experimentation with the gears themselves rather than the heel toe daily. This was a tough weekend for me, similar to the other weekends this year with the exception of Mid-Ohio. Basically, it's a new car, and I'm trying VERY hard to unlearn some of my habits from back in H2. (I drove an H2 ITR w/a stock motor and different suspension/tires for the first five years of racing/track driving.) This car is completely different than the former car, which is the reason I am experimenting so much with the shift points and gear selection. I think I've got most of it down, but there are a couple of turns that I'm still not sure which gear is optimal.
Oh well, practice makes er...close to perfect
Kev-
Shoot me an IM on exactly what info you're looking for

I tried to be as polite as possible as some people will take it as criticsim, but its good that you took it that way; I had the same troubles this weekend so here's to you

Gee - I hope I helped prompt you to post some incar footage. I think this sort of thing helps to promote the capabilities of these cars (however hybridized )
Don't waste time street racing...I will help anyone I can get into this sport. These cars are unbelievable to race.
Thanks Franzinator.

You seem to be doing pretty well at killing those Miatas.
I loved the sound of your motor too.

Nice video, once that Civic was out from in front of you it seemed less aggrivating. I was screaming at my monitor Nice work

A big ditto and thanks back at ya.
The opportunity is there, folks. Even if you don't/can't race, the HPDE programs that are out there will definitely let you get your kicks in a legal/controlled environment
Thanks again for all the comments, guys. Glad you enjoyed the vids

Re: In-car vid highlights from Hyperfest at Summit Point (Back in Black)
Random question for you Jason, are you just keeping the clutch depressed when you're coming into a hard braking zone (T1, T5 mostly), up until you're ready to get back on the gas? I've heard mostly Dan U. talk about doing that to maximize braking potential, and it's just felt really weird to me to even try.
