Buying a Type-R...today?
Hey guys I'm trying to pick up a Type-R this weekend and I have a few questions I hope you guys could help me out with.
The seller still owes money on the car to the bank. I am going to make out the check to him so that he can pay the bank back and get the title.
Since the DMV is closed today can i used the Notice of Release of Liability form from my old car by crossing out the vin and info from my old car? Also do I have to have the smog certificate?
This is my first time buying from a private seller so any help would be appreciated!

Although I do not live in CA I can give you some old fashioned NY advice. Don't buy anything on the weekend that has to do with any bank or any office that is not open.
You can joy ride on Monday night.

Re: (get RIGHT)
WAIT UNTIL MONDAY!
CLEAR IT WITH THE BANK AND DMV 1ST
I would hate to see you have the car and for some reason it gets hit, stolen, and worst, SELLER takes your $ and the banks gets back the car because they hold the title!
NOT SURE HOW WELL YOU KNOW THE SELLER, but I did my car transaction at the BANK to make sure everything went smooth and well.
