Alternator compatability for jdm itr
Ok Ok I looked and searched and cant find this specific question .
I have a jdm 00 full ITR and the alternator is going south ( I E making loud noises etc. ) This is a recent event , like today in fact. I want to know what alternators I can replace this with or do I buy a us itr 00 alternator?
ant help would be great the girl is down at the moment I dont want to seize the alternator.

I'm not sure on US ITRs but i do know for a fact that UK/Euro ITRs use different pulley belts and therefore different pulleys to the JDM alternator. A freind of mine had to replace the whole unit on his JDM ITR with UK spec alternator and lower pulleys when he couldnt get a belt to match the one that needed replacing, but apart from that it bolted straight up and plugs etc were the same.

Speaking from experience regarding the USDM alternators, the Mitsubishi alternator made for our cars is unique. GS-R and LS alternators don't bolt up without some sort of modification, as for working in a JDM motor I have no idea.
