I am sure a GSR or LS alternator will work assuming they have the same amp rating as the 00 R alternator.

I'm not sure on US ITRs but i do know for a fact that UK/Euro ITRs use different pulley belts and therefore different pulleys to the JDM alternator. A freind of mine had to replace the whole unit on his JDM ITR with UK spec alternator and lower pulleys when he couldnt get a belt to match the one that needed replacing, but apart from that it bolted straight up and plugs etc were the same.

dont quote me but i think only the pulleys are different. buy a GSR denso and put the ITR pulley on it.

Speaking from experience regarding the USDM alternators, the Mitsubishi alternator made for our cars is unique. GS-R and LS alternators don't bolt up without some sort of modification, as for working in a JDM motor I have no idea.
