Hey guys,

I'm trying to get some exhaust issues I've been having cleared up, I was hoping someone might have info about this...

My itr came with an aftermarket cat, and there wasnt any bung on the cat for the secondary o2 sensor. So the previous owner just drive without a secondary o2 sensor. I bought an 02 sensor and bung to have it welded onto my exhaust. My question is, if I have an aftermarket cat Do I need to use a cel eliminator with it? Does having an aftermarket cat automatically mean I need the cel eliminator or can I get away with just adding the secondary o2 sensor? The code I was throwing was p0141 secondary 02 malfunction, because it wasn't being used.

an aftermarket cat should be fine. i've installed aftermarket cats on many types of cars and never had any issues. just put a regular bung in it and you should be fine.

If the cat is too efficient it will throw a code. I had this issue with a carsound cat on my gsr. It didn't pop up right away but it always came back. Won't hurt anything to add it since they are only a few bucks. Or try it without and see what happens

The previous owner got rid of the o2 sensor and cut the the connector off unfortunately. I bought an o2 sensor and I was just going to cut the connector off of it and join the bare wires, I mentioned that to my engine builder and he said it was a bad idea, and that it might come back to bite me in the ***.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? Is it bad to cut connectors and join bare wires? I've never heard of this before, but this guy really knows his stuff, Especially Hondas. So I haven't done anything yet.

Instead of cutting your new wires why dont u pass it to through the floor just like the oem set up
..... the plug is most likely still on the order side!

If u bought the right length o2 sensor u should be fine if not just buy a extention!

The plug isn't in the car, underneath the car where the wires come through the grommet, there are 4 bare cut wires, so I'm sure the plug is gone. Whoever owned this car before me was a complete idiot I don't know why anyone would do this for.

The second O2 sensor wire is always extra long for that reason!
Both O2 sensor are the same... wires length is the difference !

Google Second O2 sensor wire harness location =Boom

I changed mine by lifting the carpet up just slightly to the right of the gas pedal behind the center console. Very easy access. You will see the harness plug and everything right there.

I took it to a muffler shop sand when they pulled out the grommet where the wires were cut, the Hayes was right behind it with both ends of the connector still plugged together.

My o2 sensor has a female connection and the the wires on the car have a female connection as well, so I cut the o2 sensor wire s and joined it with the cut male end that was there, but for some reason It still threw the same code p0141 secondary o2 sensor. So I tried another sensor and it happened again.

Is it possible that the 2 black wires are crossed? I haven't had a moment to try switching the black wires to see

Lol, Im not 100% your right yet. C454 is supposed to be under the carpet by the center console area and this plug was right under the grommet, and 2 o2 sensor s didn't solve my check engine light so I'm not exactly sure which plug I plugged the o2 sensor to, I don't think it's c454 though.

I'm running out of patience with it though it's starting to really **** me off...

Ok, I had some free time early this morning I looked behind the center console area and found c454, I did plug the o2 sensor to it, but I'm still throwing code 0141. So I'm stumped.

Time to use a good old multimeter and see if u get all proper voltage to that plug and check ur ground.....
try a third NEW o2 sensor......

But I'm curious to know where u weld that second bung now?

I tried switching up the 2 black wires, Im still throwing code 0141.

I have 4 wires to connect, 2 black, one white one green. I hooked up the green to green white to white, and black to black. I tried switching up the black wires and still no luck.

Look at ur ecu.. maybe the connections were cut or depin or loose at the ecu itself!

Look at it one by one to make sure !

The bung is welded at the backside of the cat, which is an aftermarket cat, Im hoping it's not too efficient like someone had mentioned in a previous post.

My kid just woke up and needs me so I'm out of time again unfortunately...

Maybe I'll have some time this afternoon to check with a multi meter.
