its like carbon or something. most used exhaust valves look like that, or black. not sure which means what though.

wow only 173 miles on it. looks like it is on the lean side but i've seen most ex. valve look like that even after 100K miles on stock heads.

wrong forum to be asking. post in all motor where you will get more educated answers. some of those guys have built more than a few engines and tuned them.
