I have a 96 LS and I want to go from LS 5spd to GSR 5spd using the LS tranny temporarily i HAVE THE b18C ENGINE in the garage I know there is some stuff needed like a new ECU (which is best?) and a few other things. Does anyone know what it is that is needed to properly switch from LS to GSR.

You need a GSR(P72)ecu.
You also need either a GSR engine harness unless you want to individually run the wires for the vtec solenoid and IABs.

You need a racing ecu chipped with mugen spoon hks skunk2 and motec chips. That's the best out there right now. Will rev to 10krpms. You also need...a mod to direct you to the faqs. I wonder how many times they direct new users to the faqs on a daily.

Dont get the gsr harness just run yours. Wires are different in ls and gsr harness its more work then to just run the ls harness.
If your gonna run a stock p 72 ecu you need run a wire for knock sensor ad well as iab, and vtec.
If your gonna run a different intake manifold like blox or skunk then get a chipped ecu p28 or p72 if not just get a stock p72.

Thanks guys now just to break it down further I noticed the there is obd1, obd2a, and obd2b what is the difference which is better. Plus where would I be able to find a reliable chipped Ecu
