Valve Adjustment Guide for LS / B18B1 wit pics!
Hey everyone, well i was long overdue for a valve adjustment, and i'm a broke ***... so i looked everywhere on the web to find a maintenance guide wit pics online for a b18b with no luck, although there are several for the b18c. I kno team integra has something of the sort, but nothing detailed specifically to the b18b. So i took it upon myself to make one for ya all as i did mine. I've included some diagrams from the helms and also taken a couple pics of my own.
I hope that this will help some of my fellow LS owners out there. Please feel free to make any comments or suggestions.
Just go to the "DIY" section of my website.

The LS/ZC's are real easy, dont need no "special" wrench like the VTEC guys do. I didn't quite understand what they were talking about the first time, but once you do it a couple times it's real easy.
I don't know if he mentioned this in his website, but you don't have to do it in any order. Basically you just adjust the rockers when the lobe is pointed away from them. This may help if you don't have the timing belt on. You can still check the valve lash, and quite honestly its easier that way.

Great job on the DIY section. I did my valve adjustment not to long ago, wasn't quite as difficult as I thought it would be. I bought the Helms manual first ... and borrowed the feeler gauge and adjuster ...

Thanks for the compliment. As for the cam install... well i would need money to buy cams first hehehe.... if my roomate does then... i'll do it for the GSR hehe.
But for now, since i'm so dead broke... i don't foresee any new DIY additions for a while hehe...

You sure can but it'd take you years to get the crank at TDC (top dead center) for each cyclinder...
And wat are you going to do? Turn on the engine, take off your valve cover, then see if it's TDC? And if it's not then you're going to put back the valve cover and turn the engine and do it all over agaiN?

He is right. Just take out the spark plugs so you are not fighting against extra resistance, and make sure to turn the crank to the left only. It isn't hard to see when things are lined up, and it doesn't take that long ... I can't really see a reason that you would want to do it by cranking the car, although it could be done.

Thank you. I try to follow closely to the helms manual.
