Default Transmission/Clutch Problems!!! Help!

So last night when driving home everything is fine. When I stopped at the light all of the sudden I was unable to get into any gear. I posted up for a bit and turned off the motor and noticed that I was easily able to shift into any gear. After shifting around with the motor off for a bit I was able to shift into 2nd and 4th while running and made it home.. But regardless it's super tuff and and grinds slightly when attempting to get into any gear while running.. Any thoughts what this could be. I was going to troubleshoot with the basics like the trans oil etc first. But does anyone know what this might be????

check the master and slave cylinders. i'd put my money on it being the master though.

Would it matter if it's a cable transmission vs a hydro. I have cable but not really sure what exact model.

Sounds like broken clutch springs, you are going to have to pull the transmission. 94

More likely, springs that are coming out of their recesses in the friction-disc hub, and are getting wedged between the disc and the flywheel. Monkeying with the clutch for a while un-wedges the springs slightly, allowing the clutch to disengage a bit better.

This does still means replacement of the clutch, which does still means pulling the tranny.

In case nobody else responds, I thought you might like pictures of the jumping-spring problem.

Unworn spring recess:

Worn spring recess:

The jerkier, bouncier, and rougher you are on the clutch, the faster the springs wear through their housings.

Way back, you mentioned checking the fluid level. Have you done this yet?

very informative thread, thanks the REALTEGGER, it made sense to me to be the clutch spring
these are the exact symptoms i have experienced this past week, what hurts the most is that i got a new clutch about 2,500 miles ago, stupid CC clutch failed on me so fast, didnt even abuse it, broke it in as a gathered my turbo kit
disappointed now to drop the freakin trans again and order a new clutch

just wanted to let future readers, i replaced my clutch and unless my pressure plate was warped, the clutch i had on looked perfectly fine, looks like my issue must be the master/slave cylinder is going to crap, replacing those next after i get some funds after buying a new freakin clutch, should have started out with the cheaper troubleshoots, but was sure the clutch springs were shot, no dice..
