Switching between synthetic oils ok?
Is ok to be switching between synthetic oils?
My last oil change on my gsr was with Penzoil synthetic (it was free), and I'm about to do my next one with Mobil 1 synthetic (free also). Then after that I have 2 dozen qts of Valvoline synthetic to waste up (free also) My question is, is it ok to be switching between synthetic oil?
lol, I would just stay with one brand of synthetic oil but since it's FREE, I can't complain.
I heard it wasn't good switiching between syntethic and conventional so this is why I do not use the synthetic on my other car. It will make me poor if I put synthetic oil on all my cars.....
However, will there be any negative affects on the car switching between different brands of synthetic oils?

yeah man fill me in! How do you get free oil? Unless it's a hook up like your friend works at jiffy lube or something...

Re: Switching between synthetic oils ok? (keys)
I went to a local K-Mart a few hours ago cause I was bored and they had Mobile 1 synthetic on sale for $4.00 per quart! So I picked up some. I don't know if this is everywhere or just in my area. They had the Mobile 1 non-synthetic for only $1.00 per quart! Just thought I'd let you guys know. It's not free, but it's pretty damn cheap!

$4 isnt THAT cheap unless your area is different from Cali... at Costco wholesale its $21.95 for a case (6 quarts)... K-mart has sales sometimes and has Mobil 1 for $3.49 or $3.79..one time it was $3.49 per qt of Mobil1 Tri-Synthetic and $7 for the Mobil 1 oil filters (regular is anywhere from $4.19-$4.50/qt and $9.99-11.99 for the filter at auto parts stores I've been to) anyway you should have seen the look on ppls faces when I bought over $200 worth of nothing but Mobil 1 cases and filters.. they thought I was nuts haha..

My local Target has Mobil1 for $3.69 per quart, but I usually buy mine by the case from Sam's Club for $21.96 ($3.66 per). Cases are more convenience, plus I buy 2 or 3 at a time. Doing oil changes every 8 weeks (~3000 miles) kinda sucks too.
