Default Starter issues

So I did a search and came up with answers that I wasn't really looking for. I purchased a starter tonight from a member on a local forum and he told me that it came out of a 90 DA and it's an aftermarket starter (duralast). Well once i get my old starter out I realize that the sprocket (that spins the flywheel) is pressed in while the one on my old starter is out. I figured maybe it would extend out once it had power ran to it. I finally get everything in and it doesn't even click like my old (bad) starter does.

My question is:
1. Even if the starter came out of a 90 integra it should still work on a 98 integra which both have manual transmissions.

2. Why is the starter not attempting to even turn over and give me the clicking noise...i mean i would like to have spent at least 30 mins and hear something

Any help is greatly appreciated.
