Yes...running rich means excess fuel in combustion chamber=lower MPG. Black smoke from the exhaust is a sign of running rich or but most accurate way to tell is to to use a wideband 02 sensor and get readout of A:F ratios. HTH

how do you fix this without replacing the FPR? also would poor gas mileage be a result of getting valves adjusted? thanks

First, find out if you are running rich or not. If so, check to make sure the injectors are functioning correctly and all seals on them are good and go from there. Really I don't think a valve adjustment would affect gas milage unless they were horribly out of spec...HTH

Why do you think the FPR is at fault? It's not the only thing that can screw up your A/F ratio.

Poor gas mileage might be fixed by adjusting the valve, but only if bad valve clearance was the problem to start with.

If you are running rich, should be able to tell looking at your exhaust tip. It should have black stuff around it, or you can smell gas from the tip of the exhaust. Another way to tell is to remove your spark plugs, they will have black film around the tip.

Uf tiy are running rick, you should replace your 02 sensor, air filter, fuel filter, and make sure your timing is correct.

I wouldn't just rely on your exhaust tip. The entire back end of the car is going to be dirty due to the vaccum formed by moving through the air.

I assume you aren't getting any check engine lights (CEL) ?

Take a look at your spark plugs, see what they look like. Whens the last time you replaced them?

Do you see any black smoke when you go WOT?

i like the idea of changing the seals on those injectors and the o2 sensor. But how much do they cost though? I have a 94 gsr and RC310cc injectors. will the stock fit the rc's? oh and how much is the o2 sensor? thanks
