Default Rocks in my MOTAHHH!!

Darn it jangles! I finally started my car today (after 8 months) and there is a rod bearing problem. Sounds like there was rocks in my motor. I was told rebuild or new motor is necessary, oh well, what are you gonna do? By the way, I JUST turned 17 and have ABSOLUTELY NO MONEY. Ahhrgg. Gotta go make that money

Definitely have it checked out. Sounds like a costly repair.

500$ for a b16 longblock on hmotorsonline direct swap easy and cheep. Much more cost effective than a rebuild.

Or just rip a D series out of a junkyard for $100.

D series arent direct swap. Also, did you run the car at all during the 8 months? Could have been humidity in the tank building up. Run some water separator and burner in the tank.

nah, you can only do that in a Hype-R, anything else would be sacrelige.

a turbocharged D series would be fun. i've considered it if my B goes out. make about the same power and have a lighter front-end. set-up the suspension to cope with that and you'd have an awesome handling car. and put some R badges on.

Are you sure you don't just need bearings? They're like $20 a piece from Honda.
That's how I felt back in Januray when I blew my gsr motor. Hmm...17, high school, no money and parents who don't give me ****. But hey, soon my car will be back and badder than ever.

If I need new bearings, won't I have to tear down the motor?

No... Do I have to pull it? I would rather replace the motor, because I don't wanna rebuild it

sorry to thread jack but do you really think a d series is that much lighter than a b series when you add the weight of the TURBO and Manifold and charge pipeing to the equation, if you have hard evidence i would like to hear it.

dude, i was being sarcastic. i was teasing kendall because he has a d-series in his ITR while awaiting a new k-series.
still, the d-series would be kinda neat. turbocharging would be the only decent way to brings it power back up. turbo's and the associated parts are not that heavy. no i don't have any hard evidence and i'm not going to waste my time searching for that info. but, there is no replacement for displacement.
