Default Philips 9005 Blue vision bulbs

I bought a set of Philips 9005 Blue vision bulbs for approx. $20. They are just plain halogen bulbs. They are yellowish when turned on. Don't waste your money on these, get something with Xenon gas insted of just plain halogen.

Some ppl claim that they blow out. I'm sure they are a quality product. One thing to keep in mind is to never touch the bulb. Human skin has an oil on it that wil cause the bulbs to blow out. The bulbs get extremely hot; any kind of contaminants will cause burnout. Always clean the bulb with alcohol if they have been touched or are dirty.

I had blue vision bulbs on my car before I went with HID's. They weren't much different than my OEM bulbs.

Those ppl whose bulbs blew were doing 9005 conversions.

The 9006 themselves I can already say are *significantly* whiter and better than my stock coolblues. Hopefully they'll last longer ..

I was disappointed when both of them blew out in 6 and 8 months. I was out 50 bucks and pissed at myself for wasting 50 bucks. I did like the color and light output when they worked, but way too much money for the time. by the way, I didn't touch the bulbs, the filiments on both of them just burned up.

I have read that too much on here. I'm skurred to buy them now. Did you do the 9005 conversion? I don't really see how that would blow them, the bulbs look the same except for the paint on the end.

I had some hyperwhites in my Civic, they kept melting my H4 headlight plugs. The only way I could get them out was to break them. They just got way too hot. They are bright as can be though. In my Acura it has generic Korean made hyper whites, in one bulb the glass has a bubble bulging out. I think that's where there was contaminants on it.

Yup, did the 9005 conversion with the silverstars and the differences are 10 watts more (55 vs 65). It was good light for 6 months but waste of my money after they blew.

Has anyone else had problems with their 9005 conversions?
