need help adjusting idle?
I am following idle speed setting from helms manual (but having problems with step 5)
1. connect tach
2. start engine. hold at 3000rpm (no load, neutral) until fan comes on and than let it idle. (I didnt do this, I just made sure the motor was warm)
3. disconnect the 2p connector from the IAC valve.
4. If engine stalls, restart with accelerator peal slightly depressed.
5. Stabilize the rpm at 1,000, then slowly release the pedal until the engine idles. ( I am having problems with stabilizing idle; it keeps stalling )
Then adjust by turning the idle adjusting screw on the throttle body. Does tightened the screw (clockwise) increase OR decrease the idle?

Re: need help adjusting idle? (carblegal)
try getting a friend to hold the idle steady and if you turn the screw counterclockwise it will make the idle go higher and clockwise will make the idle go lower.
