interference motor, what all interferes
ok, i'm trying to get an idea of what damage may have been done before i pull the head, my timing belt broke and i know my valves could be damaged because they occupy the same space at different times, but does the pistons actually occupy this space during the compression stroke while the valves are close?

NOOOO!! well i guess if its not raining today i will pull the head off, i wish there was a way to inspect all this without removing the head.

99% of the time valves are what bend. i don't think i have ever came across a honda that sticks a valve in the piston. does happen with v8s from time to time due to the stronger larger valves. the thin stem on the honda DOHC valves and the angle of impact almost always bend the valve. make sure you check the guides for damage too. when the valve bends if the stem gets tweaked it can ream out your guides

well i'm guessing 100k, but you wanna know what sucks the most! my car was down for 3 months because transmission failure, bought a used gsr- which was crap, got stuck on that deal, so i saved up even more and got a synchrotech gsr tranny with carbon synchros, i put it in thursday night, i drove it almost 2 full days then that timing belt snapped, so i got a whole 2 days out of it. i'm guessing it dry rotted from sitting for 3 months? guessing..

B16a randomly shutoff @ 7100rpm, and that was the aftermath.

well i'm aware of the possible damage, but hopefully that damage was caused because of the rpm you was at 7100, maybe mine will be significantly less, i was at 2500 or less. we will see soon enough and i will post pics.

Re: interference motor, what all interferes
? why are the valves in that head not bent to hell? is this the same motor? if a valve bends so far out as to be able to hit the piston that hare you would easily see it in the head. i had an exhaust cam break once toasting the valves on that side, only left minor nicks in the piston, valves looks like an S
