I am in need of help for my 94 four door Integra RS 5 speed tranny. I cant shift into first gear, when pushing the clutch down I try to put in first but the shifter wont even move, no gear grinding sounds or anything. I have to start off in second gear, all the other gears work. I noticed if I shut the car off and try shifting into first gear position it will allow to go into the 1st gear position and I can acclerate from 1st gear for that time only. So if I am drving and I want to go back to first it wont allow me to. So everytime I am at a red light I shut the car off and put it in first gear and then start off again. The Reverse gear is solid too. I cant shift into reverse whether the engine is on or off, no grinding noise either. Please help guys, I hope this all made sence to you. Thanks in advance.

i tink your clutch pressure plate is broken , i had the same problem before on my 94 dc2 ,usually happens when you put a new clutch and you dont brake it in or just gun it too hard i dont tink is your tranny, i did fear the same thing
but when i changed the clutch it fix the problem but my syncro in third gear got
f#$k up so dont drive it too much.

shiet im having the same problem right now but only in reverse =\ it straight wont let me in.

Your clutch is not releasing. The more you try to force it into gears, the more damage you do to the synchros.
Make sure your clutch lever is physically moving when you press the clutch. Chek the clutch fluid. If those are fine, replace your clutch before you screw up the tranny.
My clutch disc exploded a spring and seized the tranny to the flywheel causing these symptoms.
Edit: Also be prepared to buy a new flywheel.

damn is everyone having this problem or wat? i am having the same thing with my reverse in my 94 ls. it straight wont go into reverse at all no grinds or nothing but all other gears work. i dont think the problem has to do with a clutch issue cuz if it did it would be the same symptoms no matter what gear you were trying to put it into. if anyone has the answer PLEASE let the rest of us know!!!!

lol! ya i just swapped my tranny in my 91 civic and at first it would not go into first or reverse... but i drove it on the freeway for like an hour and all gears worked fine... next day i back out, go to work, try to back into a parking spot NO Reverse its been a week of driving still no reverse... i have a d16 cable tranny

in conclusion..... u just need a new clutch. it comes with the plate etc. what u need to get ur gears working again

hahah this happen to me couple months ago and its the pressure plate that is broken inside so you need to get a new clutch kit or just get the pressure plate.

if you keep trying to force the gear in you will mess up your tranny so i would prefer not to do that cuz thats how i messed up my third gear lol
