Default Integra Fuel Pump Info

Reading conflicting info about the flow rates of various Integra fuel pumps prompted me to do a little research. I thought I would share my results for future searchers....

The OEM manuals only explain pump flow rates for the 94-95 years (couldn't find 96-97 shop manual to confirm). The funny thing is the flow rates are mysteriously absent from the 98+ shop manuals specs. When I started checking part numbers of the pumps, I found some odd information. The VTEC models only use a specialized higher-flowing pump for the 94 thru 97 model years. Then I found out that Denso was the OEM supplier of Honda's pumps and they offered the following info about the various models used in the 3G Integra:

94-01 Integra GS/RS/LS = 80 Lph "new" spec in shop manual (Denso says same)
94-95 Integra GSR = 131 Lph "new" spec in shop manual, 119 Lph from Denso
96-97 Integra GSR & Type R = 110 Lph from Denso
98-01 Integra GSR & Type R = 80 Lph from Denso (confirmed by part number)

Here are the OEM part numbers (for complete pump hangar assemblies) next to the Denso pump number to help back up this info:
94-95 GS/RS/LSL: 17040-SR3-A31 951-0004 (80 Lph)
96-97 GS/RS/LS: 17040-S04-G41 951-0004 (80 Lph)
98-01 GS/RS/LS: 17040-ST7-L31 951-0004 (80 Lph)

94-95 GSR: 17040-ST7-A31 951-0006 (119 Lph)
96-97 GSR/TypeR: 17040-ST7-A33 951-0005 (110 Lph)
98-01 GSR/TypeR: 17040-ST7-L31 951-0004 (80 Lph)

So for whatever reason, it seems Honda started the 1.8L VTEC line of motors off with the biggest pump, and slowly scaled it back to the 80 LPH model found in all Non VTEC Integras & Civics for the later years.

Interestingly you find the Denso 951-0005 110 Lph (pump only) in the following cars:

80 lph seems extremely low for a type R considering the gsr of 94 has 119. Always thought it was 135lph itr/gsr ?

I don't know if it helps your database, but here's some factory information for some earlier Integras:

90-93 all but GS-R: 80 Lph (actually, the manual specifies the equivalent of 82.8 LPH as a minimum at 12V)
92-93 GS-R: 75 Lph

It's possible that Honda now omits pump-flow rates from their manuals because those rates can cause a lot of confusion when troubleshooting:
It looks to me as though injector-flow peaks at about 58 Lph for the set of 4, which is substantially less than even the lowest-capacity pump can deliver.

I thought so too, which is why I was originally considering a GSR pump for my Civic CX w/ B18C. But even still, the 80 lph pumps are proven to supply enough fuel for 200whp+ N/A builds.

The 94 OEM shop manual (page 3-7) specs the GSR pump flow at 131 lph (364ml/10sec) when new with a service limit of 36 lph (100ml/10sec). The funny thing is specs the B18B1's pump at 80 lph (222ml/10sec) with a service limit of 43 lph (120ml/10sec). Why the GSR's limit is lower I will never know. It may help to explain the difference between Honda's "new" spec and Denso's possible "nominal" spec of 119.

BTW: Thanks Tegger for the DA pump specs. To add to it, here's the Denso pump part numbers for them:
92-93 GSR - 951-0011
90-93 Non GSR - 951-0010

I didn't e-mail denso for their specs on these two pumps.

When you say the psi for the 92-95 civics is 40-47, is that what the factory setting are or what it should ideally be at to give the best results out of your fuel pump?

factory settings are what it should ideally be at for best results unless your motor is modified

fuel pressure regulators how to identify...
looking from front of the car.as you would when you working on it

b16a/b18b - bottom outlet straight down, top facing 11am mark towards plenum

earlier and some jdm b16: bottom facing 90degrees to the right and top straight up

b18c1 bottom straight down, top facing 90 degree to the right because gsr vacuum hose goes under the manifold

b18c5 bottom is about 30 degrees to the right , top facing 11am mark towards the plenum same as LS motor.

since Honda decided not to mark fuel pumps injectors or pressure regulators its pretty retarded.
there are still slight differences to identify them like the injector cap color and plug for different years.

because a combination of fuel pump injectors and FPR is needed in order to get correct fuel throughout the RPM so ecu can work properly.

I had wrong fuel pump and LS fpr in my gsr and had a massive lean spot in low/mid range at light throttle that went away with replacing both with the correct ones.
