help me find a dipstick that will work!
Hey everyone,
This is a fairly stupid question, but I have been put through all hell trying to figure it out. I bought my integra w/ a JDM B20B swap in it, but whoever did the swap decided to cut the dipstick. Why, I don't know, some bs about clearance issues. I just did an oil change the other day, and although I'm slightly confident, I'm also slightly paranoid because I don't want to be swapping a new engine in there.
Can anyone help me figure out what part number this is from honda? The motor is from a 97 or 98 CR-V, and it is not the same as my b18a dipstick that came on my integra. It is really long, whereas the one from my car was short. I've gone to both acura and honda, and both keep trying to sell me the short one that does not work. I will try to get some pictures up when I have time of the two that I have.. TIA.

B20s are the same as B18s, just with a different bore, so most likely you are just mistaken and they are trying to give you the right one.

I've been told that repeatedly, but there is no way, I physically took the one out of my b18 and put it in the b20, and it was nowhere near the right fit. I wish it was that easy. I'll try to get pictures up tonight, I have no idea why, but it just seems different.

That seems correct, but then again when they checked it at Honda they said there were two different part numbers, and the one they had in stock was the same as my b20. Are you sure there isn't a difference? I see b20 in your s/n, is yours a jdm block? What year?
OT: What's your setup on your b20t? I wanna do that down the road...

Alright, I just got off the phone with Honda, maybe someone who works at a dealer could help me out here.
Part Number they have on file: 1560P3F-A00
That's for the B18 as well, but the one I want to check on is: 1560P3F-000
I think that was the longer one, and hopefully this will help me find the one I'm looking for, Honda is not helping me at all and pretty much blowing me off when I talk to them.

True, but it's obvious that he just cut the dipstick, he said it was for clearance. There's also an attempt to make the low and high marks, but the dipstick itself just isn't long enough. The only problem is, the cut one that I have is longer than my B18 dipstick already, so neither of these will reach.
I just want to know if I can get any info on the other dipstick (if the part number I supplied is right) before I go make a $20 shot in the dark at the Honda dealer. Thx.

The clearance issue is both the intake manifold and the dip stick are about 2 inches taller than the valve cover on the b20, when you swap them into cars with less hood clearance you need to change the intake and dip stick, the original dip stick housing that sits in the block is also taller and is usually replaced too. I currently have the same issue looking for a proper dip stick but I’ve changed my dipstick housing and using a b18 stick, I get a small read but not super confident at all I’ve been adding some stabilizer and lil oil every 500 miles
