Fitting K&N RU-2820 into stock airbox???
I need help guys. I wanna do this mod but I can't find any write ups on how to do it. I guess if all fails I'm just gonna get the drop-in but it's $50 more (S&H to hawaii sucks!).
i checked out BSQ's site but the link to the write up is dead.

Re: Fitting K&N RU-2820 into stock airbox??? (B18Chillin)
hmm well i just took a stock paper filter, cut it up and tore the stuff off to just leave the plastic neck at the base. The paper element and metal frame underneath are set in epoxy on the base, and you should be able to break the epoxy out. After that there should be just enough room to slip the K&N filter on. You might need to heat up the base of the K&N w/ a hairdryer to help it fit on the filter neck. I also used screws and attached the OEM filter endpiece (w/ the nib that fits in the airbox) to the end of the K&N, so it all fits in the airbox 100% like stock.
Sorry I don't have pics.
