Default Door ajar light problem

I posted this in the audio/alarm section, but might get some better luck here.

Short story

Last week taking a turn ,the door ajar light flickered. That same day when I armed the alarm the screen shot back at me saying the passenger door is open (it was closed).

Now when my stereo is off (OEM tape deck) the door light come on. I turn the radio on and the light goes off.

I am pretty sure the owner before me had a system in it and took it out before selling the car. But I've pulled out all the old wiring he left in it.

I pulled the HU out to see if any of the wires were opened up (none found). I checked the wiring on the passenger door no wired opened up. the speaker wires were spliced but done right, with no exposed wire.

Any ideas guys ??

Thanks in advanced.

P.S.

I also cleaned the connector for the door switch male and female ends and still comes on

Remove the door pin switch, [pass. door] and see if dome light still turns/stays on, if so the switch is not the problem.

What is the MM&Y of the car? 94

its a acura integra GSR 1995 . I just realized that the dome lights and map lights dont' go on at all now. I just replaced all these bulbs a week ago. Guess my next step is checking the fuses

Have you checked the fuses?

Dome and spot lights, [map lights] and trunk/hatch light is fuse 3 -7.5A, [hot at all times].

Door open and trunk/hatch open warning lights are on fuse 15 - 10A, [hot in run and start]

Both the above are in under dash fuse box. 94

I haven't looked into it, so my solution was just to turn off the light.

I wish I could do that Donut, I disconnected the door switches thinking that would be an easy fix, but didn't work. Nice video BTW

then the problem is not the switches.

I am guessing either a short in the leads from the pin switches or possibly a problem with the ICU, [ICU controls dome light when drivers door is opened].

Because the indication was pass. door was open. I would check the lead from pass. door pin for a short to ground at some point.

The other possibility is a grounding problem, [dash harness ground]...

When one circuit has an affect on an other unrelated circuit, [turning on radio, an acc. (switched) circuit] turns off the "door light", [I assume you mean dome light, a constant power circuit] it is almost always a grounding problem. 94

Door light I mean the dummy light on the instrument cluster. It also shows when I arm my alarm that the passenger door is open.

I can't wait til the weekend gets here so that I can work on my damn car lol

Thanks FCM for all your help

My 94 did the EXACT same thing. It was the 7.5 amp fuse that had blown.
I have no idea why Acura lights the door open light on the dash to indicate a blown fuse. Just change the fuse and all should be good.

YEP, took out the bottom panel of my dash, and the kick panelto look for open wires. I found two of them that I fixed and also found the ground for the radio was also open, fixed that as well and then finally checked the fuse, 1st off the pervious owner put a 20amp fuse instead of a 7.5.

I replaced it with the correct fuse and everything seems to be A OK

Thank you FCM for all your help man, tegchas thanks also.
