Default Decided to boost my 00 gsr with jrsc

I decided to choose supercharge route rather than turbo because i live in cali and have to deal with smog. I will be getting the jrsc for my gsr and my goals are daily driven, reliability. I want to be able to be to run 14's and 13's in 1/4 mile. I want low end to top end power. What do you guys think of my decison for those jrsc gsr owners. Give me some feedbacks on jrsc. How was the install?? I currently have skunk 2 im which i will replace with jrsc itself but can i reuse the hondata intake manifold gasket??? In terms of intake i have currently a type r comptech intake and icebox. Will i be able to reuse or make it work with the jrsc gsr.

yes you can reuse that gasket alot. Just make sure the sc belt is torqued right because those belts brake all the time. And if you're gonna run like 9psi or more make sure you have a good ignition system and a timing retard computer.

im gonna run 6psi. Do the jrsc belts really break. I will get my jrsc kit professionally installed in a shop. I will also purchase a walbro 255lph. I will yes use my vafc2 since it is already on my gsr for tuning. Hopefully it will work because i dont wanna spend more money on hondata. Anything else you guys recommend.

yea dont forget the TB gasket. Also, nice choice going with a blower over a turbo.

I'd choose a centrifugal charger over the JRSC, also, but that's just my opinion.

None-the-less, you will still make good power on your GS-R with the JRSC. What will you use to tune it? That will probably be one of your biggest choices.

The JRSC is a nice choice...I'd consider doing one on my GS-R, but it's cheaper for me just to buy a Drag kit.

I've never heard anything bad about the Vortech, and I like the design of the centrifugal charger much more, however I'm not too sure whether it's CARB legal or not.

Your VAFC is good enough, but if you're bent on the cost of Hondata and want to make more power, look into using Uberdata or something of that nature.

Injectors, definately. Fuel rail isn't neccessary though, there's people pushing 500whp on stock fuel rails; to be honest I don't think that they really make a difference. Honda knows what they're doing

I think it would be a wise choice to go with the Boost Upgrade kit from Jackson Racing. It includes a fuel pump, injectors, as well as an 8lb pulley which is nice, and it's a pretty good deal.

um.. JRSC.. yes vortech makes more power but in lower end it sucks *****... might as well get a turbo if you want a vortech.. I say go for the JRSC... I have a 94 JRSC and its been hella fun with almost no maintenance.... You are going to love the facial expressions of other drivers when they hear the WHINNNNNNIEE.... go for it...

trust me man your going to love it, i have a friend here in laredo, texas that has a 95 gsr with a jrsc on it and a chipped ecu he ran a 14.2's consistent and had sotck airbox, stock header, and a stock exhaust, oh and stock clutch, he added a aem v2 and dropped it down to a 13.9, then he added the skunk2 cat back but then his stock clutch gave out, so im guessin he'll run a easily 13.8 to a 13.7.

Hey guys. Is it worth getting my gsr tb bored out to 64mm. I have itr tb but i will need to sell it since it wont work with gsr jrsc kit. I will just send mines to maxbore and bore it out. Will the 64mm tb work with gsr jrsc kit and 3 inch intake.

Did you get that jrsc installed? I'm thinking of going this route as well. Where in the bay did you get stuff done?

Go with the high boost kit, comes with 440 injectors and hondata s200 8,10,11lb pulleys, cant go wrong with it. i know it s a little more but if your already thinking about injectors, this kit has it all

FYI: You can make just as much power & have the same drivability utalizing Crome instead of Hondata for a lot less money :-)

Good choice on the blower, I have driven in one untuned and 100,000 miles (the guy abused it) and it still ran pretty well.... When you hammer it the whine kicks in immediatly and it sounds like a high pitched WHHHHoooooooo... Its awesome, and of course my main reason for goin this route, LOW END!!

My buddy has a JRSC on an Ls-Vtec with a GSR head. After installation, his car felt twice as fast and it was hard trying to move around in your seat when Vtec kicked in. You're gonna love the blower...I love driving his car!

Man there’s a lot of BS info on this board.

If you’re only running 6psi, I wouldn’t get bigger injectors. Get them later on if you plan on upgrading the boost or doing more mods.
Second a fuel rail is a waste of money no matter what psi you’re running.
Third a bored out TB will make a significant difference; the reason is because unlike a turbo or vortex, the JR SUCKS air, instead of PUSHING it.

I hope you like it; personally I hate it, mainly because I want more power.
