Default Converting a JDM GSR engine for California BAR

I was wondering what needs to be changed out with usdm parts to make a JDM gsr engine pass smog?

I know i need a intake manifold. However I am not sure if it needs all the things like a jdm type R engine needs. If anyone can help me out thatd be great

what year car are you swapping this JDM GSR into, and what year is the motor, that's the first checklist...

the jdm motor is a 98. The chassis i am swapping into is a 98 civic. Basically I want the engine to match a usdm gsr engine 98 model so i can BAR. Thanks

I've known if you replace it with a jdm engine and its about the same year is ok. no need for it to be bar. since its consider a direct replacement(but thats for a gsr model car ofcourse). I just forgot what you need to make it pass smog, oil pump and something else. But its nothing major. Since you have a civic, just do the same you will do to bar a usdm gsr onto a civic. I know there's more.

i think there is something on the crank like the crank sensor or somthing i can't think of it right now... that has to deal with the main part on bar'ing and smoging...

call up like hmo or some other legit motor shop and ask them the details on smoging a jdm motor..

but from what i can remember when i called honda-hookupz back in the day they made it clear that if i just bought a jdm motor and put in the car it would not pass smog....
