Normal break-in it to drive is easy for 500 miles of street driving. You can't count any freeway miles for break-in.

I couldn't do that... the first time I took my car out after putting the tranny back in I took it to the red line...
During clutch break-in just take it easy on the clutch and don't slip it at high RPMs... but once it is engaged it doesn't matter how high you rev it... just don't rev it to the redline and slam it into the next gear at full throttle... wait for 1000 or so to do that
Me, I can't stay under 3500, turbo kicks in at 4 and redline comes fast!

Yah, no quick shifting or anything. Shift like a grandpa at higher rpms. after 500 city miles, you're good to go

No problem....I specificly drove my car on city streets on a Saturday, all day to get the 500 miles on it!

Re: Clutch Break-in? (Marauder)
I went from a B18B to H22A over a weekend and installed an Exedy Stage 1 while I was at it. Was shifting at 3500 rpm for 500 city miles ... longest wait of my life.

What's the logic behind this? What do RPMs and a new clutch have to do with eachother?
I'm just wondering because I've heard people say they didn't rev it above a certain level while breaking in the clutch...
As long as you are not doing full throttle shifts I don't understand why you couldn't take it all the way to the redline...
Someone educate me on this one...

most unedmucated drivers slip clutches....a nice 8k 3rd gear ease in could slip the clutch and galze it over...well making it less effective....
get a ceramic and beat the snot out of it ....but kevlar is nice on the nuts for engagement
