Default Car won't start without being jumped, bad alternator?

This integra has been sitting around for 6 months. Battery seems drained due to alarm and not being started up. Starts up if jumped with the help of another car. Once the engine is turned off, the electricity dies immediately (headlights on during drive but turns off immediately when engine is off).

I tried checking if it is the battery by swapping my civic's battery into the integra. Strangely, the electronics worked on the first turn until I turned the key more to prime the fuel system, the electricity immediately died along with a click sound. I swap the battery back into the civic, and the civic starts up fine.

Could this be a bad alternator? Does a car need a good alternator in order to start up? Thanks for the help.

Doesn't sound like an alternator issue as you don't have to have an alternator to start it. I would go have the battery tested at your local parts store.

But I put in a working battery from a different car and it still does not start. I put the same battery that didn't work in the integra into my civic and it started up just fine. So I am ruling out the battery.

Any other suggestions? Btw, thanks for the help guys

Thats really odd that the battery didn't work from the other car sounds dumb but are you sure you had the terminals tight? It should start with that other battery since you said jump starting works, its not your alternator since everything is working once its running

Your negative (black) cable might be corroded.

Clean the battery terminals very very good. If the car starts up and runs when jumped it dosnt sound like a issue with grounds the battery in the car may still need to be tested and replaced. But when you swap a goo battery in and it dies, but works fine in another car but jumps fine I would say the issue is the cable terminals.

I agree it is a connection problem not a batt. or alt. problem.

Check the main power and ground connections, batt. terminals, batt. to starter and batt. to engine bay fuse box, batt. to chassis ground and chassis to engine ground, my guess is you will find your problem at one of those points. 94
