A/C recharge questions / problems - gauge reads full - still blows warm
My engine was pulled out and rebuilt last fall (system evacuated). Trying to recharge the a/c system now
I bought a recharge kit w/ gauge, and followed the instructions.
It was a 14 oz can which contained 11oz of 134a and 3oz of lubricant.
The can is now empty. The gauge reads in the 'blue' zone (safe zone indicating its charged) which is approximately 25 psi. My a/c still blows warm.
The helms does not provide a psi value for the a/c. BUT it does indicate you need approximately 24 oz of freon for a recharge.
What should i do? Keep filling it? Do i have some other problem possibly? SHould i use just freon or the freon / lube combo i've been using?
Any info appreciated. its gonna be getting hot soon...

There should be a graph in the ac section of the helms w/ psi's and temperatures. When I refilled my car, with the ac running, I had a gauge attached to the high side and filled on the low side until the gauge showed the right pressure for the intake temperature.

what you described is what i did.
the helms does not have a psi / temp graph like you're referring too.
the consensus (from team integra) is that i need my a/c system professionally vacuumed, to evacuate any air in the system. THEN recharged.

The graph is on...page 22-25 of the Integra Helms. Getting it professionally vacuumed then charged is the best way to do it. I'm just too frugal I guess.
