I've been having this problem ever since it's become extremely cold. In the morning I would start up my car to pull it out of the drive way for the other cars to pull out so i just start it up... wait for about a minute then pull it out onto the street so the other cars can get out.
But when i park on the street and shift into park the light doesnt come on and it seems as though it isnt in gear. I can't shift out of it and i can't take the key out since its not in park. So I end up fiddling aroudn with the shifter, pulling it back and forth but nothing happens. I try using the spare key to shift it back and forth with the shift release but that does nothign ... it wont get into park.
It finally does click into gear after the car's been fully warmed up for about 20minutes or so. I don't know whats wrong, it's been happening alot lately since there have been below freezing temps around here, and the only remedy so far is warming up the inside of the car for a long time. Has this happened to anyone else? If anyone knows how to fix this please reply asap...
