I've ran 1/2 a bottle of brake fluid threw my clutch system and for the last several cycles the pedal has not gone up any more. When I installed the new CMC I just eye balled where the clip that clips over the pedal is, is it ok to have it fully tightened so long as the pedal has the proper amount of play ?.
I've been doing the bleeding my self(just me) with a hose at the end of the bleeder screw into a water bottle, the lid on which I made air tight the other end was a bit harder to do but still. I'm getting tired of not progressing more the bottle is about 650ml also the CMC is sadly not OEM Honda so it's a bit different. as for bleeding I pump the pedal 6-7 times is that too much ?

Sometimes it takes a while to bleed a clutch system, especially these damn hondas.

Id say hit up a buddy and make it a 2 man job. Your little hose rig might be introducing air back in unless its under vaccum i wouldnt trust it.


I do 4 pumps and on 5 i stay down. Also dont go crazy on the pedal. Pump it slow abd easy.

I don't know if this will help, but I had a similar issue with my dad's toyota pickup. Kept pumping and pumping until I nearly went crazy. Until it finally occurred to me it could be the slave. Of course it was the slave that was bad the whole time. Changed it out and boom, got pressure in a few pumps. But now I at least have a new master and slave so I don't have to worry about that for a while.

I sprayed the salve down to see if it was leaking nope it's fine was replaced less then a year ago also. should I just do 1 pump since I'm going solo ?. I've already got "some" feel. none of my friends are into cars/live close to me.

When using the bottle system, make sure there is fluid in the bottle so hose is in the fluid, and the bottle should not be airtight, then as long as the master cylinder is kept full, [topped up] all you need to do is pump the peddle, [slowly] any air in the system will be forced out into the bottle, no air can get back in as long as the tube in the bottle is submerged in fluid at all times. 94

ok thanks will need to get some more fluid tomorrow, so no airtight and fill it up so the hose is submerged. I have 50% pedal feel back but if it's running and I go to try and select a gear it won't even disengage the PP enough to get a grind even still got along ways to go. I have a 1/4'' hose is that the right size ? I feel it could/should be tighter.


also I tried adjusting the pedal would I want to be bringing it in more so to say to or outwards ?.

1/4 is OK, any size will work as long as it fits tight on the bleed nipple.

There should be a 1/4 -1/2 inch play at the top of clutch peddle before you feel resistance. 94

success !!! took your suggestion about filling up the bottle and submerging the hose and played with the pedal a bit.

Next time rig a 3/16" clear hose from the clutch MC to the res. then fill it and pump away. All the fluid will be cycled through and the air will be pushed out the top as it pumps fluid back the the MC.

I have been wondering this too.. what could the adjustment of the clutch master cylinder effect? I know pedal release, but anything else? or cause harm?

Just out or curiosity did you bench bleed the CMC?

What I noticed with it in too far is the clutch was not disengaging enough thus always slipping/causing the gears to grind when I would press it in. So there is potential for damage to the disc if it's in too far and vice versa you'll have the engagement points "always" being ridden. I just did the hose attached and ran back n fourth tightening the bleed crew and working the pedal filling it up as needed.
