Anything wrong with change to 10w30 oil?
Hey i got an 94 integra rs. the previous owner before me always used mobil1 synthetic oil. well my car just hit 1600xx miles the other day and i was wondering if i should use mobil1 high mileage synthetic oil, the problem is that it only comes in 2 viscosity ratings 10w30 and 10w40. The owners manual tells me to use 5w30 but i was wondering if i should use high mileage synthetic oil to help make my engine last longer.
so should i stick with regular synthetic 5w30 or should i switch to high mileage synthetic 10w30?

I ran mobil 1 synthetic in my GS-R. I would use 5w 30 in the winter, and 10w 30 in the summer. No problems with either.

According to the owner's manual and service manual, 5W30 is preferred at all temperatures. 10W30 is also acceptable as long as the outside temperature in your area stays above 18 degrees F. So the "official" answer is, you can use either one.
In our 175K-mile '94 GS-R, we use regular synthetic 5W30 year round, not the high-mileage stuff.
