switchin oil pans. should i get new gasket?

Default switchin oil pans. should i get new gasket?

swappin over my B20 motor thats bad to jdm Ls motor and switchin the oil pans b/c its already tapped for the oil return line and also its a GSR oil pan. wondering do i HAve to GET new OEM gaskets? b/c mine isnt leaking but im hearing i have to get new gasket for it.. im kinda short on money and unemployed , just have enough money to swap it in and get new axles.. wondering would u recommend gettin new gasket and how much would it cost and what is it called. the "oil pan gasket kit" ?

Its a judgement call. If it is smashed/squished bad then it would need to be replaced. IMO, I would just replace it. I think they run about 20 from the dealer.

I would just replace it so you don't run into any other problems, which would probably cost more money in the long run. Play it safe and replace it while its off

when I pulled my pan off my gasket was still very good shape (motor is a 2001) and didn't need to be replaced, doesn't leak at all either.

ic.. but wondering which oil pan gasket should i get? B18C1 since its a GSR oil pan or a LS b18b1 . or are they all the same?

ok just making sure. the OIL pan is a GSR and the block is an LS so i get an GSR oil pan gasket kit not an LS oil pan gasket kit correct
