AC Compressor Bottom Bolts?
My '90 and others I imagine, has the main suspension cross-member in the way of getting to the bottom bolts of the AC Compressor. Anybody have any idea of how to replace the Compressor on these. '90-'93 are probably the same. I thought maybe I could open the plastic wheel well there, but there's metal body panel in the way.
What do I have to do, take out the fans and radiator?....just to get at the two bottom bolts?
Thanks!
..can't really get to the pressure switch either.

Re: AC Compressor Bottom Bolts?
the 93 helm manual should be close enough for jazz.
i'd grab a 90-93 haynes too just for a different perspective:

you can get a 1990 helm to print here for $45 (boatload of ink and paper not included):
Helm Incorporated: Search Results
or get the real deal for $120:

Re: AC Compressor Bottom Bolts?
Yes, Haynes says you've got to remove the compressor fan. That is pretty much the conclusion I had come to. I don't really want to do that right now, many of my connectors are fragile and you have to be really careful. They break. My AC works right now, tho the belt drags when I start the car cold (only). At any tension, new belt or old belt.
Just about all I use this car for is 900 miles trips, and I was trying to prevent the possibility of loosing the compressor belt out in the middle of nowhere Texas. It'll take the alternator belt with it. I'm in the process of moving, so I'll probably wait....and I've found another minor issue I need to deal with anyway.
Thanks
