my abs makes a pressurizing noise on start up. i check on archives but it doesnt tell me how to refill my abs with fluid?

is there a way to refill the abs unit at all.

there's a resevoir tank on top of the abs itself and i've look at it but i havn't found a way to refill it.

anyone with advice it'll help, thanks

Go to your favorite auto parts store and buy a manual for your car. It will tell you how to bleed and fill your abs/brakes system.

my car does the same thing, unfortunately, the only solution is replacing the unit, or at least the canister. my friend was an Acura tech and it is a common problem. eventually the pump will run long enough that it will throw an ABS light and they system will stop working until you cycle the key enough times to reset it, but even that only works for a limited time. i drive around with ABS only half the time because i haven't gotten around to finding a junkyard replacement yet. from the dealer, it will cost you up words of $1000, and even at cost it still costs >$700. however, the dealer sells the canister AND pump as a unit so if you look for junk yard parts, all you really need is the canister as long as the pump still works. i would suggest not wasting your time filling and bleeding the system, because that really won't do anything. keep in mind that the pump is running because of the loss of pressure not fluid while the car sits, so adding fluid will not fix the problem. what you can't hear is when the pump runs while you are going down the highway and driving in general because the road and engine noise is drowning out the noise coming from the pump. sorry, and good luck.

the sticker on the lid says high pressure and looks like their is a lid, im wondering the same thing.. i thought it just took fluid from the brake fliud canister which says use the same dot 3 dot 4 fluid.. mmm blahhh
