Default Integra Temp Gauge

I was driving today and I noticed my tempature gauge hotter than it usually is. As soon as the car starts moving the gauge drops down to about 40% or so, where it usually is. I was sitting in a driveway about an hour ago and it was at about 80%. As soon as I revved the RPM's it dropped back down to 40%. So I don't actually think it's over heating, I think the gauge is just messed up. Anyone have any ideas?

The car : 1995 Integra LS

I bet a new thermostat would fix it. You don't have a coolant leak do you? When my radiator was leaking my temp. needle behaved as you described.

Totally possible, I'll park it and leave it for the night and see if theres any coolant on the ground. Thanks for the info! Anyone else have any others ideas?
