Default '01 GS auto trans stuck in 3rd blows rear defroster fuse

My friends son has a 2001 Integra GS, automatic transmission, that used to run great. He put in headers and a low restriction exhaust system, then a cold air intake, and it ran fine for a few thousand miles, but now it won't shift out of 3rd while in Drive (he can shift into first with the shift lever) and it blows the rear defroster fuse.

He said an Aamco tech told him there are three wires on that fuse, one to the rear defroster, one to the computer, and one to something else, which he can't remember (#@%#). I've asked him to contact the tech to find out what the third item connected to that fuse is.

In the meantime we looked under the hood for damaged wires thinking he damaged something when putting in the CAI, but everything looked good visually anyway. And the wire for the rear defroster comes directly out of the frame and isn't damaged.

Is there anything obvious to look for? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Also is there a wiring diagram showing the wire coloring online anywhere that anyone knows about?

Thanks,
Mike

fuse box under the dashboard, fuse #16 = ABS control unit, rear window defogger relay (via switch), black/blue, 7.5 A

fuse box under the hood, fuse #50 = Rear window defogger (via rear window defogger relay), white/green, 40 A

sometimes when the auto trans forgets how to shift the problem is not the circuit that's malfunctioning, but a bad ground to the whole system. if you guys know how to use a voltmeter and can check for continuity, make sure all the engine bay grounds are functioning properly. look through my recent posts where i go into more detail about ground wires earlier this week.

Thanks for your very detailed post.

The Aamco tech told him that the shifting problem was being caused by the blown fuse, a wire goes to the computer from that fuse.

I'll check the grounds, I do have a volt-ohm meter, and I'll see if I can make heads or tails of the ABS ct. too.

Thanks Again,
Mike
