Very nice write-up. I am curious, if I install new valves, don't I need the machine shop to do a valve job--(cutting surfaces)? If so, should I bother installing the valves, or will they just have to disassemble to perform the valve job anyway?

A GOOD shop will take everything apart. That's the same boat I'm in. Taking everything apart now, send to shop to get a 3 angle valve job/cleaned/resurface, then I'll put back together.

don't worry guys I still have the pics. I just need to upgrade to the premium account on photobucket as I never expected to exceed 10GB of bandwidth for this month.
Should be back up and running by tomorrow morning at the latest

Re: (sic12nv)
Well, finally got around to finishing my head. This thread helped again. All I have to add is if/when you remove the valve stem seal's, to turn the seal's around about 3-4 times to loosen them up, then pull up with some needle nose pliers. Also my girlfriend's tweezers came in handy to pick up the valve keepers when they fell. (this is working with the head off the car) Now to ship my head off to get PnP, surfaced, hot-tanked, 3-angle valve job. And my valve cover to get custom paint.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
