I dont know about feeling it, but the gains will be there. Not to mention you'll get rid of that odd funky piping the y7 uses.

It will make a big difference, trust me. The Y8 intake manifold flows so much better than the Y7. Get yourself a Y8 tranny as well.

whould i have to do any custom work with the accelerater lines? and how excatly does it flow better ...it seems like the y7 manifold send air into the ports directly which in my opinion would be better

This isn't an issue though. Plug up the holes on the Y8 manifold and keep the IACV on the T.B. It will work.

The runners are designed better. They take a more direct path to the head and are shorter as well. It flows better, plain and simple. The Y8 intake manifold has been dubbed the "Type R manifold of the SOHC's".

no need to plug up the holes if you get an auto y8 intake manifold

<--- got an auto Y8 on my mnual y7 and it's plug and play...just make sure you use a Y8 IM gasket. Only problem is the ports on a Y8 head are slightly larger so the outlet of the manifold is slightly larger...best thing to do would be to port match the head to the IM...which nobody ever does but it would be the best way to go.

In a NA application you can expect 5-7 HP on a Y8 IM over the Y7 IM more if you port match the head.

You can use your Y7 throttle cable but I think you have to use the throttle rotor from a Y8...I swapped a long time ago so i'm not sure.

There should be a slight difference, but I usually don't swap these kinds of things on forced induction platforms. The intake is pressurized, so flow isn't as critical. On an all out setup I'd do it, but for a mild street car I don't.

Not saying do or don't, just something to think about.

You can reuse it, but you need the Y8 throttle plate to connect the throttle cable to. You also need the throttle cable bracket from the Y8. It mounts on top of the intake manifold.

If you are using the Y8 manifold. Might as well get a B or H-series throttle body. Port match the manifold and you'll be set to go.
