Wastegate Install Question
I read that the top part of the wastgate (delta gate) is for a boost controller and the side goes to a vaccuum source. The person who installed this for me says that he can not adjust the wastegate and it is stuck. Is it because it is connected wrong (top and side)? Any opinions would be appreciated. Revhard Stage 2 on a B16. I will try and attach a pic.

Re: Wastegate Install Question (zojirushi)
So I guess the connection is backwards? It looks like the top is connected to the intake manifold. Also, how can you tell if the waste gate is open at idle?

Re: Wastegate Install Question (Autobot_Killer)
if the wastegate is open at idle you'll hear it lol
it will sound like you have open exhaust.
put the hose from the intake manifold onto the bottom port and be done.

I wonder where the bottom is connected to? Yeah, when I rev the engine, I hear a weird throaty sound. I guess that's the sound you are talking about!!! lol

Re: Wastegate Install Question (Autobot_Killer)
take the hose off the top and plug it @ the mainfold. if you want more boost just sink the screw but it should only go as high as the number on the sticker but dont go crazy I've seen a 10 psi spring go 15psi

Re: Wastegate Install Question (SIXTYdashONE)
What do you plug it with? Also, what happens if you drive and the wastegate remains open?

Re: Wastegate Install Question (Autobot_Killer)
you leave the top open no need to plug. If the wastegate remains open you'll wont build **** for boost for a long while into the rpm band.
the wastegate will open when you reach the desired boost level.

Re: Wastegate Install Question (foozball-26)
Well, when I drove it, with the way it is set up, it went up to 12 psi!!! The sticker on the wastegate said 7 - 9.

Re: Wastegate Install Question (Autobot_Killer)
boost cannnot be adjusted on the deltagate
it is regulated by a spring
you would have to switch the spring out
but the wastegate vacuum ports should be:
top left open atmosphere if no boost controller
side goes to turbo like shown in the picture

Re: Wastegate Install Question (B20TURB0)
So the way it was set up, both the top and side connected, is that why i was boosting at 12 instead of 7 - 9 psi?

Re: Wastegate Install Question (Autobot_Killer)
So how does it have more boost than what is stated if both are connected?
The top port of my d/g is connected to my EBC, the side port is connected to my compressor housing:

Re: Wastegate Install Question (inspyral)
the side of my delta gate is connected to the intake manifold and the top part is connected to my TVVC manual boost controller. The side of the turbo is also connected to my manual boost controller.
