Volt meter running off o2 sensor for egt readings?
Is there anyone using a volt meter running off their 02 sensor for egt readings?
I know you can do this as a cheap and quick alternative to egt gauges?
I think the ideal volt reading for the sensor is 0.9 0.7.
Does anyone have anything to add to this?

Yeah thats what I mean.
you got it.
high voltage means rich, low mean lean.
cheap and quick way to check out the a/f if you don't have an egt gauge hey.

well, that's all an a/f meter is, it's a bargraph display of voltage. I have a bargraph and a three digit numerical display (just for the hell of it and to double check the bargraph) you can just wire up a digital voltmeter and it's just as good.

all the guys on here say an a/f ratio gauge using your stock o2 sensor is a waste of money. it is not acurate at all.

a/f gauge is a bit of a waste...
and why not just buy an a/f gauge instead of the volt meter?

What is this crap?

electrical engineers like to pimp it labratory style with a Fluke meter wedged between the dash and windshield.
its tiiiiiite y0!

Using the stock oxygen sensor to get readings off of is pretty much useless. The stock oxygen sensors are only calibrated to ready air/fuel ratios near 14.7:1, which is the primary air/fuel target range in the closed loop operation of the ecu. Your readings will always be off considerable. If you are looking for something cheap/semi-accurate go with the greddy air/fuel unit with its own oxygen sensor. That oxygen sensor is at least calibrated to operate in a broader air/fuel band, giving much more accurate readings. If you want to tell if your rich, pull the plugs...cheap, easy, accurate and effective.
