Default Are Turbonetics turbos any good?

i found a few threads asking the same thing, but none of them had any answers, and i was just wondering if turbonetics was good, ive heared good and bad, i have access to a kit for a good price from a friend and dont know if it would be worth it

they are good turbos,but their "street" turbos have a rep. of blowing oil seals. So if you have a turbonetics turbo,it will inevitably blow the seals.

I've never heard this rumor before...
...in fact I ran a turbonetics for about 30k miles without any trouble

dont know anything about a reputation for blowing seals but from experience blew out the seals in the turbonetics i had within 2500 miles. a friend of mine had it rebuilt installed it in his car and it blew again a few months later. I have a precision now and blew it once but it was my fault for not putting in right restrictor. Got the right restrictor in and have not had a problem since.

good turbo. my first turbo setup was a drag setup and i used a turbonetics turbo put 22,000 miles on that setup over 4 years. best daily driver ever

cool cool, sounds good i guess. if anything bad happens i guess i will get a garett. Any more imput is a great help!

I have been using a Turbonetics 57trim t3/t4 for over a year with no problems....just make sure you have the right size restrictor and you should be good
