turbo question

turbo question
okay my overall plan is to build a turbo single cam. i want it to look like it came from the factory with the turbo. Power is not my concern as i could not care less how much it puts out. I want a reliable, low boost single cam that will have a fairly fast spool(full boost around 3K).
I owned a saab that achieved full boost by 2800 rpm. it was a garrett t25 on the 2.0L engine.
I would assume i would have to use a smaller turbo then a t25 because the single cam would most likley be a d series 1.6L.
So, what turbo should i use when i do this build?
the turbo must be easy to find, and from a Factory turbo car. I am going to even go so far as to get a recirculating bypass valve to make it look more "factory".
sorry if this has already been discussed. im so out of it right now its not even funny.

use a hf manifold, there's an infinite number of oem turbos to bolt to it. Take all of the other pieces from oem turbo cars to help.

Hey dude read the boost thread it will tell you everything you need to know. IMO using a stock manifold to boost it a cheap way around. If your going to do it do it right the first time it will save you money in the end.

Well considering that no Civics have ever come turbo from the factory it will be really hard to make it look that way.
As for a good turbo that will spool fast and meet your goals, Garrett Super 60 is a good choice spools fast and is good for 250-275whp..

I swear, some of you are so dense. Make it look factory meaning, make it look like an OEM setup, but on a honda. I dont think that requires a lot of insight to figure out. To those offering insight (whose comments weren't deleted), thank you
Secondly, rather than berating or making fun of the OP for his question, why not point the him in the right direction. Its BS like this that kills forums. If members don't feel comfortable asking quetions, no new threads are created...next thing you know, you're no longer coming to HT.
To answer your question, there have been several examples of inconspicuous turbo setups in the past. Here's a great example of one such turbo setup. This is TonyTheTiger's Integra...just read the thread.

Greddy kits are discontinued had to get mine used. There is a guy on here that has one for sale. 300 for the turbo only. You could run an ebay manifold with a greddy since your not going to make loads of power.

Another easy solution is to use a log manifold, but with a heat shield covering it. A friend of mine bought a log mani and welded on a few spots to screw the factory heat shield to the manifold. It ended up looking like a stock car unless you really inspected it carefully.

sorry for my nonconstructive comment earlier, but post like these happen all the time. at least 2-3 weekly by someone new and they never research, never return and they throw crazy power goals. are we wrong for doing such things? yes, but why hasnt H-T screen newly registered members? dont take the question i asked the wrong way.

If that were true none of us would be on here or modifying our cars.
Op i met a dude that runs ebay turbos. He said he has had one last a year and one last a month so with that said think it over and then think it over again. A greddy kit does not look to flashy or hard-parked. Whatever you choose do it right the first time and make sure you really want to do it before you leap. Good luck to you whatever you decide to do.

This is awesome. a heat shield is something that aids me in thinking its stock/factory.
I hope you guys do not get the wrong impression of me here, some of you think i got on here just to ask one question and ill never come back? thats completely wrong. I want to be part of the honda tech community and learn as much as i can from anyone willing to help me. i have joined other forums for the sake of asking one question just to leave the forum and not go back but that is not my intention.
Also thank you to everyone that is NOT giving me **** for my question and actually attempting to help me. yea i understand the question is asked a few times a week but this question, i believe, is my personal question to the HT community which is why i asked instead of hitting the search button.
As stated in my op, I want to build one to make it look as though it came from the factory with a turbo. yea everyone knows they never did, so what? it isnt to make everyone else happy its to make me happy. If i go through with this build the car will appear at honda tech meets in the future (in Albion, NY)
and i couldn't care less what people think about it. My inspiration came from Mike Whiting and his white hatch. his side mount intercooler gives the car a non turbo appearance and the car is rather quiet until you hear the synapse blow off valve. that is were my inspiration stops. under his hood is a b18 with a very well done DIY turbo set up.
mine will be well done and hidden to the best of my ability with the use of a heat shield and silicone charge pipes or something of the sort. it may seem completely stupid to some of you guys but i have this idea in my head and i want to make it happen. if i was good at drawing i would draw it up and show you guys what i mean.
Also to the ebay turbo post, I have a MHI td05H turbo that would be used. not a ebay turbo, i would never use an ebay turbo. I hope to not receive flak about being a dick or what ever because that is not what im trying to do here. just trying to help you understand what my goal is.
on another note, my goal is not outrageous HP numbers. id be happy with a 180hp car as it would be a street driven daily driver, and most likely have my 7 month old daughter on the back.

HF manifold with a .48 turbo, spools at 2-3k will Not look stock, nor will any single cams with a turbo.... Stock cars usually run air induction boxes, with resonators, iwg/ibov's, charge piping and intercooler are ran to the top of the engine with a hoodscoop(IE Subby's) or they are used with a slim intercooler/DSM (IE Ecipses, Probe GT)
your best bet to make it look semi stock, is to get some serious custom manifold and downpiping to give you more of a left/right option, and get a resonator/intake for the turbo itself made, that is boxed in and pretty much covers the turbo looking down on it from the bay, with a crazy *** downpipe/j-pipe that stretches under the engine.
My belief, buy a damn K-series for the money you're about to spend making it look "oem"
or buy an STI

id take an sti if it was in my budget range.
If you can find me a k motor and everything needed to do the swap, for less then $1,000 then be my guest and show me where to get it. from what i have calculated I can build a turbo set up while keeping it simple and making it look the way i want for less then a grand.
