which turbo for 300whp on stock gsr?
I am currently in the market for a new turbo currently running on the greddy 18g kit. I want a turbo that would be able to make about 300whp around 10psi of boost. Motor will be a stock jdm b18c. Manifold will be a Full Race A/c ramhorn, and car will be tune on hondata s300. 440cc injectors.
This is what i want out of the turbo.
-Quick spool around 3-4k rpm that will hold out til redline.
-capable of 300whp on a stock block with room to grow if i decide to built the motor later on.
been doing some searching seems like gt28rs or gt30r is the way to go, but would like all the inputs from you guys.
thanks in advance!

The gt28rs and the 30r are both over $1k. Your best bet would probably be a non ball bearing turbo (60 trim t3/t4, for example). You can find them for under $600 and you can definately make 300+whp.

oooo. A GT3255B or GT3000 would do nicely for that.

In either case, whichever, the best is the .63A/R for the B18C with that compression. .48A/R will create a bit more backpressure than is desired for that setup. Many tend to focus on the "A/R" of the turbine housing without paying attention to the actual exhaust wheel that is used.

^^^I am not messing with you
I would have to suggest a 60-1 or an SC61 before something in the 66mm (550-650hp) range, hell even a .60 trim can get you 450whp sometimes more.

used GT3076r, it is capable of more power than you want but you'll reach your goal with 10psi, it spools fast enough to be fun but not so fast that your in boost when your driving normal and it comes on hard when you floor it, best street turbo IMO, the smaller stuff like the GT28RS just don't come on as hard as i like.

I'm paraphrasing of course
I loved my GT3255b.
Here's my dyno at 10.5psi on a bone stock GSR. It was an amazing street turbo...the current owner is pushing it further than i ever did...he's somewhere in the 420whp range with sick torque and perfectly streetable spool.

Also you had mentioned people forgetting about the turbine wheel, but isn't the standard wheel in the 50,57,60 trims all stg3? and in that case i would still default back to the .48 a/r for the street.

fast spool on the street to me means no traction i like coming around people in 3rd gear myself where the tires only break lose at 90mph lol, and if you have a good management system you can set it up how you want it to come on anyways

Now i'm wondering why the .63 a/r is what you suggest for the street? I would think the .48 a/r would come on faster and would be a better suit for the street.
Also you had mentioned people forgetting about the turbine wheel, but isn't the standard wheel in the 50,57,60 trims all stg3? and in that case i would still default back to the .48 a/r for the street.
