Stay away, stay FAR away. stop looking at e-bay right now for a turbokit, and make sure you have about $2800 ready for the full setup. If not, wait, be patient, save, and get a REAL kit from a reputable company. Read the FAQs regarding "ebay turbo kits"

do some research, and peice together your own kit you can do it for pretty cheap. i peiced together my own kit with alot of go -autoworks products for 2500 ish and that is including a electronic boost controller and turbo timer. so with out those and just the pure turbo kit parts its like 1900ish

They're crap...end of story. If you buy one, you'll end up replacing damn near every part in the whole kit which will cost you more in the long run. Do it right the first time

Re: Are those no name ebay turbo kits any good?
Ebay turbokits cost quite a bit to modify and make them fit your car. Intake pipes are usually too long and need to be cut, and reflared, the intercoolers are cheap, the downpipes(if they come with it)usually need to be shortened as well. Plus the reliabilty of the turbo cannot be judged. Yes it will get you by and you can make it work, but if you are going to be putting a turbokit on a vehicle, stop being cheap, and put some money into known brand names with good reps. I'm not saying to be like me and by a precision turbo intercooler, and turbonetics ballbearing turbo, but you gotta pay to play. Do not take short cuts.

ebay turbos are garbage. They have "free floating shafts" that are all pretty much guaranteed to fail. If your going to boost the best way to go is to buy a good compleat kit like you will find on here like the "AFI" kit with a good garett ball bearing turbo or journal shaft bearing set up. They cost alil bit more (around 3k give or take for yours) but you will save yourself a lot of headache. None of the ebay turbo parts are any good. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Re: Are those no name ebay turbo kits any good?
I am building my own kit because the ebay kits are crap one of my buddy got one and the welds on the manifold broke in about three days we trashed the piping because my arm got tired of the hack saw I build his piping out of PVC and it works pretty good now plus I think the PVC helps displace heat better keeping the charge cooler.

Have an ebay turbo kit on right now, no problems just make sure you buy a good wastegate cuz the one that comes with the kit is garbage, everything else is good though

I dunno the knock off wastegates are the best part.
Everything else is garbage. The 60 dollar intercoolers
will get you by in a pinch also. The turbos I would
stay very far away from.

Ebay piping and couplers should be ok for a basic setup. You might be able to find a kit for your car or you can just do some custom work to the piping.
The hose clamps are hit and miss. I would get some good t-bolt clamps because worm gears suck. I blew apart 3 worm gear clamps in one tuning session with my dsm.
Not every t-bolt clamp is good quality though, so do some research.
I would never use an ebay turbo unless it was free.
Ebay bov's are junk.
Idk about ebay wastegates, but I wouldnt trust them.
Ebay manifolds are known for cracking.
Piecing together your own kit would be your best bang for your buck.
(When I refered to "ebay", I ment the cheap knock off companies. There are some quality parts sold on ebay, you just have to know what to look for.)

Re: Are those no name ebay turbo kits any good?
Thats not true at all... I been 11.7 with an ebay kit on a stock ls-v with low boost. Lasted for two years before the manifold cracked. I put a restrictor on the feed line and the turbo never gave me problems. Hit or miss I guess but I have never had problems...weird
