Default SOHC Hesitation in the Higher RPMs

Hello all,

Thank you for taking the time to open this thread. First off a little background on my "setup":
D15B7 w/ A6 Cam
Greddy manifold and TD04
JDM Sport Intercooler
Crome basemap

So I have ran this setup down the strip many times in the past. I had uninstalled it late in 2012 to DD the Civic and up until about last week got the urge to go drag racing again. So I had installed all the components exactly how I remembered it, plugged in the ECU and took it for a quick first gear blast which felt great again!

Once we got to the track, I immediately threw in a bottle of Lucas Oil Injector cleaner to my nearly empty tank and added about two gallons of gas. Once on the track, the burnout felt okay and the launch went by fine. I ran through first gear seemingly normal, second gear around 4-6k it would sputter, hesitate and then somewhat pull through if I stayed in it.

Back in the pits I checked my piping, everything seemed fine and tight. I didn't feel any air leaks and everything seemed to be normal. I pulled plugs in cylinder 1 and 3 and there was some oil on the threads but the tips looked OK. It was very frustrating, between 2012 and last week the entire kit sat in storage, the car sat for a year, and I would've thought for a better result at the event.

Might anyone have any ideas on where to start? Could the ECU have gone bad while sitting? It seems to idle fine and driving it around the pits it runs normal. A buddy thought the Lucas Oil did me in when I only put in a gallon or two. I was convinced I may have made a huge mistake but I added more gas to make it a half tank and did a quick 1-2 pull and the hesitation is still there.

I really appreciate the help, I feel very noob-ish in my return to the hobby so please be easy on me .

Thank you in advance for the help!

-Joe

Were the injectors sitting all that time too? If so maybe they are clogged, but most likely it just needs to be tuned properly. It is not wise to drive on a base map and especially not race on one lol. I would never drive a base map without at least a wideband to monitor afrs.

Yeah, they have been sitting since November of 2013 when I picked up a more practical daily. Should I let the car sit and idle for a while hoping any of that Lucas Injector Cleaner left in there cycles through?

Thanks for the heads up on the basemap, if it makes any difference it was based off of a buddy's B7/turbo setup, but of course it's a totally different car so I need to tune it ASAP.

Anybody else have any troubleshooting tips before I schedule a tuning appointment? Thank you!
