Shawty22's Integra Rebuild. Time to Bounce Back.
As a lot of you saw last fall...I had a pretty epic engine failure. There's a thread out there about it. Everyone has their opinions what happened but this is NOT a thread about that. The deed is done, I'm over it. It's time to bounce back and do it bigger and better.
First of all I'd like to thank Mr. Johnson and Abeastydc4 for all the help and knowledge. Always learning something new with them. So onto the new build...
From the engine failure last fall...EVERYTHING was junk. Head, block, pistons, rods, crank, turbo, Trans, ect. So here's the new setup.
B18C1 Head and Block.
Block consists of...
-Golden Eagle Sleeves (O-Ringed)
-LS Crank
-Manley Turbo Tuff Rods
-Custom Ross Pistons
-ARP Main Studs
-Moroso 5.5qt Oil pan
Head consists of...
-Ferrea Full Valve Train
-Springs 95lb spring (Seat pressure at 105)
-Titanium Retainers
-Guides
-Keepers
-Seals
-Sport Series Valves (I wanted to be a baller.)
Trans consists of...
-New Case
-GSR Gears/Final Drive
-M Factory Diff
-Syncrotec Carbon Syncros/Sliders
Turbo-Rebuilt from PTE
CC Twin Disc- New Discs are on the way.
Those are all the major things that were needed. Did some minor changes to the car here and there. Nothing too serious. Now on to the pictures.
For those who don't know the car...here it is.
Now on to the good stuff.
New block, head, and Trans.
Sent out the Block to GE. 4 weeks later I received this...
As I was waiting for the block to get back, Mr. Johnson rebuilt my gear banger. Perfect as always.
As some of the other parts started rolling in...Ferrea everything.
Part numbers to the valves.
Here are the custom Ross Pistons and Manley rods together. Pistons have more clearance all around and the rings were moved down on the piston, ect.
I big Thank You goes out to Bailey Motorsports for putting together another flawless engine. Here's some pictures of it assembled.
Got the engine back around 8 on Saturday night. We went straight to the shop and got cracking at it.
All OEM gaskets and pumps used straight from the honda stealership.
After having a good conversation with Speedfactory one day, they sold me on switching to a JE Headgasket. Decided to try it out. Hopefully it's a good decision on my part.
About half of my parts layed out on the bench ready to be assembled.
Got the block on the stand and the rest is pretty self explanatory. On to the pictures.
Got the manifold on, turbo clocked. Everything's good to go.
Here's a picture of the 4" DP and DT on.
So after that we were getting the clutch and transmission ready...realized that there were little cracks in between the pucks on the discs. So as of right now I'm at a stand still. Called CC yesterday and the discs are in stock and I should have them by Thursday. Should have the engine in the car and running sometime this weekend.
All I did to the chassis this year is take the sway bars off and put new LCAs on. But, we did polish my lensos. A slick might possibly be going on my car this year...
Here's the car as it sits...just waiting.
Hopefully this year brings me better luck...

Yes on the T1s. It would of been hard to just put those to the side while I've personally have seen them work so well on Mr. Johnson's car.
Thanks Muckman. Bore is 84mm and they're a flat top, so I'm assuming around 10.5:1? I went with the custom pistons because I wanted it to be exactly what I wanted. Deeper valve reliefs, more clearance so there is no possible way for the pistons to be near the head, wanted the rings moved down, and for the upgraded wrist pin that's rated for 1500hp.
Sure it's more money but it's either spend a few more dollars now or throw away 7k like last fall.

P2W was 4 thou. Pistons sit 5 thou in the hole. Not too sure about p2v. The relieves are 5-10 thou deeper than last year. It's been a good 5 months since we ordered the pistons...my memory hardly remembers back to last weekend. Lol

Re: Shawty22's Integra Rebuild. Time to Bounce Back.
Clutch discs came today so we got right to work.
My radiator/overflow. It's very convienent it only being one piece.
I'm using OEM k series axles as of last year. Very good investment in my opinion. Not spending an arm and a leg on some DSS but still seem to be fairly strong.
Here's where it sits right now.
Pretty much all it needs is fluids and the intercooler piping to be put on. Right now we're redoing the backdoor hot side. Didn't really like how it looked in years past. Should hopefully be started sometime this weekend.

Blox 72mm. I like it. Has never stuck for me. Seems like pretty good quality for a Blox too.
