Setting Up Skunk2 PRO 1's
Hi
Could you please give me some general guidelines on dialling in the Skunk2 Pro 1's on a Turbo B series.
Which settings in terms of lobe center have been proven to work the best ??
I realise I will have to fine tune on the Dyno - just want to know where I should set the cams to get the car running.
I remember reading Jeff Evans stating that he has "quick settings" on the Pro 1's to get the car running initially
All help will be appreciated

Re: Setting Up Skunk2 PRO 1's
do you have the first gen pro1's or the new pro1 they just came out with , the new ones are direct drop in and dont have to be degreed like the first ones .

Re: Setting Up Skunk2 PRO 1's
heres a thread i started with similar question.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/pro1s-help-2617332/
This is wat i found on skunk2's website.
We recommend you degree your camshaft for optimal results as they are not meant to be set to zero like factory camshafts. There is another option called "quick settings" in which you can set the cam gears to get close to the correct setting as if they were degreed in. We mean close because it is not spot on like degreeing the cam so we can no take responsibility for what may occur as there are too many variables to consider like a milled block, new pistons, clearance (valve to valve, piston to valve), etc. For quick settings it is important (life or death of the motor) to know which cam gears you have as the settings are different on the pro series and tuner series cam gears. For the Tuner (silver, red, or blue finish) series, Pro 1 quick settings are +1.5 intake and +2 exhaust. The quick settings for the Pro-series cam gears (titanium finish) are double meaning +3 intake and +4 exhaust. You can refer to pg 17 for these settings in our new catalog (available pdf online) and pg 21 on how to degree in a cam. We hope this helps.

Re: Setting Up Skunk2 PRO 1's
Thnx alot JDMinc
Im not sure which cam gear markings will work for me as I have AEM copy Cam Gears - But I could prob get a set of Skunk2 Tuner's to compare them to !
I just bought the Pro 1's about a month ago - I also read that on the evans tuning site that the "new versions are drop in"
How would I be able to identify the one from the other - does anyone know ??

Re: Setting Up Skunk2 PRO 1's
here evans thread about it explaining the new versions of the pro1's
https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/dyno-comparison-skunk2-pro-1s-vs-ctr-camshafts-2520138/
quote from evans post.
I have confirmation that Skunk2 is going to be releasing the new revised pro series cams that are going to have their centerlines at 0,0. This means no more degreeing needed!
Now, the issue is that these cams are not scribed with the "v3" on the ends of them. The boxes are not marked either with the new "version 3". Tony from skunk2 believes that these got through from manufacturing with the version 3 profiles on them, but were not marked. In either case, the new revised cams will be marked version 3.
